Located in the Fujian Province of China, Jinjiang is a county-level city of Quanzhou City. Jinjiang is situated in the southeast of the province, on the south bank of the Jin River. To the south the city is bordered by the Taiwan Strait of the East China Sea and other county-cities of Quanzhou; Shishi to the east and Nan’an to the west.
According to the 2010 census the city had a population of 2 million. Jinjiang is known for its name-brand factories in the footwear and clothing industry. Migrant workers from other parts of Fujian work at these factories under year-long contracts. Located in the city, the Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport provides air transport of international standards.
